Can I buy or sell a Flow headset secondhand?

Yes, Flow permits the resale of headsets that have been purchased outright. However, we strongly advise both buyers and sellers to proceed with caution. Flow is not responsible for any transactions made outside of our official channels.


Instructions For Buyers

Before purchasing a secondhand Flow headset, confirm that the seller can provide a valid permanent-use activation code. We occasionally see sellers mistakenly selling rental headsets without a valid activation code, so it’s essential to ask before buying. Flow is unable to issue new activation codes if the seller cannot provide one. Please also note that the manufacturer’s warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. 


Instructions For Sellers

If your activation code has already been used on your account, please email us at support@flowneuroscience.com. We will release the activation code so you can give it to the buyer.


If your activation code hasn’t been used yet, you can simply pass it along to the buyer for them to enter directly in the Flow app. There is no need to contact Flow Support.


Note on rental headsets: If you've canceled your rental subscription and we haven’t requested the return of your headset, you're still not permitted to sell it unless you’ve purchased it. Rental headsets remain the property of Flow, but we sometimes allow you to keep them on hand in case you choose to reactivate your subscription in the future. Rental headsets are linked to time-limited activation codes, which will not work for secondhand sales. If you don’t plan to use the headset again, please contact us at support@flowneuroscience.com so we can assist you with a return.
