The Flow treatment schedule has two phases: an Activation Phase and a Strengthening Phase. This complete treatment aims to activate and strengthen the neural networks in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, an area in the brain that plays a crucial role in managing depression.
Each stimulation session lasts 30 minutes, with a few extra minutes for preparation.
- Activation Phase: 5 sessions per week for 3 weeks
- Strengthening Phase: 2 sessions per week, ongoing
The majority of Flow users report a noticeable improvement by the end of the three-week Activation Phase but you should use Flow for 10 weeks to see how helpful it has been, even if you start to feel better sooner. If Flow helps you during the first 10 weeks, we suggest continuing for at least 6 to 12 more months, even if your symptoms go away. This helps prevent the depression from relapsing.
Following the recommended treatment plan gives the best results. A clinician can help adjust the treatment to suit your individual needs.
